Intro and Philosophy
Art in the traditional sense can be used for the creator's own agenda. The artist defines his or her own goals and audience. The act of design, however, carries with it the responsibility of communication with the weight of boundaries defined by clients and the client's audience.
The bottom line is that the message must come across. The art used as a vehicle to bring it to life must be carefully considered so that it does not overpower or obscure the message. To do this, it is important to consider the psychology of the target audience, the business of the client and the overall marketing goals. All of this must meet in an ideal balance.
Along the way to this balance the designer is faced with budgets, technical concerns, time constraints and other obstacles. There is always a solution to be found. I'm not an artist, I'm a problem solver. I am a graphic communicator. My credo:
"There are those who stop when they reach a wall,
and those who start climbing."
